After taking possession of a new piece of land, there are a number of steps before construction crews can roll in. Preconstruction involves many stakeholders working together to create a clear picture of the project, arrange permits, coordinate schedules, and lock-in resources.

The work is spread across attorneys, architects, project managements, construction vendors, material providers, and government officials. In the end, each item is required to begin construction.

  • Complete Soil Study
  • Finalize Home Layout
  • Finalize Community Layout
  • Finalize Executive Project Report
  • Finalize Land Purchase
  • Select Vendor
  • Subdivision of Land Plots
  • Receive Home Pricing
  • Receive Community Pricing
  • Receive Construction Permits
  • Source Materials
  • Source Labor
  • Break Ground

There is one more thing. For our first project, there is the added complexity of figuring out everything we need (ie building this list). While feeling our way forward, it’s important to make sure you aren’t missing steps.
